We've been crossing items off our list of 'must-do's this Christmas season and am grateful for this time of year when we can enjoy special times together as a family and also find ways to remember the blessing that we celebrate at Christmas time, the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
After the 'freezing' experience we had last year, we decided to visit the Christmas Lights at Temple Square a little earlier in the month and after a wonderful visit with a relative of Elaine's (John Hille, whom we met when we visited Holland in 1997) we ventured up to Temple Square to see the beautfiful Christmas lights.
For a LONG time I have dreamed of seeing the Forgotten Carols by Michael McLean. Well, this year we went together to the performance in Orem and it did not disappoint. It was wonderful and there was a special Spirit there as we enjoyed the performance and afterwards, also (as is always the tradition) linked arms and sang 'Together Forever' at the end before a solemn chorus of 'Silent Night' to end the evening remembering the Christ child.
We have our Christmas tree up and then last night watched the Christmas Devotional with the First Presidency (and Emma was lucky and got a ticket to go with some friends at the last minute so she was there.

We cannot forget the reason this time of year brings such special feelings and I also want to pass along the gift to the World of the messages of Christ's life that we heard about last night.

I love the Christmas lights...definately a good choice to go before it gets too cold!
