Deep in the heart of Texas!

We had a great summer in Texas while I worked for Dell as an MBA Intern.

After a few weeks on my own before Elaine and the kids came down we took advantage of the Texas 'always sunny' weather and toured around quite a bit.  We visited the Tangs and the Alamo (& six flags) in San Antonio.  We spent Independence Day weekend in Houston visiting Kemah, the Space Center, Fireworks at the Astro's game and them a wonderful day with the Vowles family.  Our final road trip was to Dallas where we visited another Six Flags, the JFK Museum and Legoland (of course Ethan LOVED this).

Working at dell was great.  Great people, interesting work and they took great care of the interns.  I spent a week in Dallas across from the NBA finals (and even got an early Fathers day present to go and see Game 5 of the finals!). they took us to see Earth, Wind and Fire, Cruise on Lake Austin and Baseball games.

Of course, Texas is famous for it's hospitality and food.  I fell in love with Rudy's BBQ and we had a great time exploring the trailer food scene in Austin.  Austin is a terrific city where there is so much to do.  We saw the congress Ave. Bridge bats, watched the sunset over dinner at Lake Travis, Swam in Barton Springs and enjoyed Round Rock Donuts of course.  Austin is the Texas State Capitol so lots of grand buildings to see and great 'Texan' pride to go with it.
