Why we build Temples in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Temples have a special meaning to us.  Elaine and I were married for 'time and all eternity' in the Sydney,  Australia Temple back in 1995 surrounded by family and friends.  We are so grateful for that blessing.  

We believe the ordinances and covenants made in Temples are sacred and the foundation of our most deepest connections with our Father in Heaven.  While we love to talk in general about how we worship in Temples and share the essence of what the blessings of Temple ordinances are, it is not appropriate that we discuss any specific details due to the same sacredness of those ordinances.    

Sometimes people may not understand the sacredness or importance of Temples in our faith yet that should not dimish the reverence in which they are treated.  In a time where our cultured societies pride themselves on tolerance, respect and religous freedom, we appreciate those who provide that mutual kindness.  We pray that those who do not share those same tenants will also someday come to feel a similar reverence for the things in their lives they hold dear, and subsequently respect the dignity of our Temples and our faith.
