Family & Football

We were so lucky to have Elaine's cousin, Jose, visit us from the Netherlands as well as Andrew & Callie and their kids come from Denver this weekend.  It made it busy but it was wonderful to see everyone (despite the massive loss by BYU to Utah at the football we went to see).

Elaine met Jose and took them to see some sites near Salt Lake City and then on Saturday we all went up to Sundance resort and took the chairlift ride up the mountains for a close-up view of Mt Timpanogas.  We then had a traditional 'bbq chicken & coleslaw on bread rolls' picnic at one of the Provo Canyon parks.

Family Visits and Football

We got back in time to walk down and see our first college football game since being here - the 'Holy War' as they call it with BYU vs University of Utah.  We were in the student section so Andrew & Callie's Utes colors stood out but they had the last laugh with a 54-10 thrashing.   Emma looked after all the kids while all the adults (incl Jose's first American Football experience :) and was a great babysitter.

It was sad to all say goodbye this morning but it was also nice to have family around for Elaine's Birthday (it's a special one but I'm not allowed to tell you what number :).  Jose was off to Jackson Hole for another conference and Andrew & Callie left to returnto Denver.  We are already planning our next visit with them as the boys love playign together so much.

Of course, after all of that and a very busy week before they came - we were exhausted but very appreciative of the great weekend with family.  Something we don't get too much of on our adventure over here in the USA.
